Blue Harvest is a program coordinated by Catholic Relief Services to restore and manage water resources in coffee producing areas in El Salvador, Honduras, and Nicaragua to protect drinking water sources for communities downstream.

The goals of the program are to (a) improve water sources for drinking water supply, (b) improve coffee productivity for smallholder farmers within critical watersheds, and (c improve farmer income.

Blue Harvest strategic objectives:
  1. Improve sustainable coffee agroforestry production in critical watersheds
  2. Strengthen local water governance 
  3. Improve farmer value in, and access to, the supply chain
  4. Greater knowledge and understanding of water resources management in the coffeelands of Central America.
